Lee-Su Huang received his Bachelor of Architecture from Feng-Chia University in Taiwan and his Master in Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He has practiced in Taiwan and the United States with Preston Scott Cohen Inc. in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and on location with LA.S.S.A Architects in Seoul, Korea.
Lee-Su is currently Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, College of Design, Construction + Planning at the University of Florida. He has also taught previously at the Boston Architectural College, and Feng-Chia University in Taiwan, while acting as invited design critic at institutions worldwide such as Hong Kong University, Chinese University Hong Kong, Harvard GSD, Boston Architectural Center, and University of Tennessee Knoxville. He is also founding partner of SHo: Spaw|Huang Operative, a research and design collaborative engaged in the critical speculation of digital design methodologies and its impact on the design and production of architecture.
His current research centers on digital design+fabrication methodology, genetic algorithms and optimization for urban-scale parametric strategies, and theorizing/conceptualizing of parametric design in architectural education and practice. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate design studios, and lecture/seminar courses on the applications of digital design in architecture, parametric design, digital fabrication, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
